EVENT NAME: A Match for Michael
REASON FOR EVENT: Michael Manganiello is a loving husband, father and avid fan of the New York Jets. He was recently diagnosed with a disease called Acute Myelofibrosis. It is a rare condition where progressive scarring of the bone marrow impairs the ability to make blood cells. His only chance of survival is a bone marrow transplant. In order to find a matching donor, we are attempting to get as many people to register for the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) via a simple cheek swab.
OBJECTIVES:
#1 – to find a potential bone marrow donor for Michael Manganiello
#2 – to raise awareness of the NMDP (BeTheMatch.org)
#3 – to raise funds to support both the NMDP and the Manganiello Family
